1. Information Assist Me collects

Depending on how you use the site, Assist Me may collect account and profile information such as your email address, display name, home ZIP code, optional profile image, authentication identifiers, membership/verification status, and payout-readiness status.

Marketplace activity may include requests, offers, categories, request ZIP/location text, job status, completion timestamps, dispute information, sponsor listing details, and transaction records needed to operate paid jobs.

Search and growth analytics may include the ZIP searched, search text or normalized search text, category, result count, first-touch campaign/referral parameters, landing path, and—when appropriate—an authenticated user identifier.

2. Information you make public

Assist Me is a public local board. Information you intentionally publish can be visible to other people using the site, including your display name, request details, general request location/ZIP, offers, badges, and sponsor listing information. Do not place passwords, banking credentials, government ID numbers, or other highly sensitive information in public request or offer text.

3. Payments and payouts

Assist Me uses Stripe for payment checkout, saved payment-method setup, connected payout accounts, and payout management. Saved payment methods can be added through Stripe-secured controls embedded in Assist Me. Payout onboarding and payout-account management use Stripe's secure Express experience. Assist Me stores transaction/status information needed to run the marketplace, such as amounts, job/payment states, and provider identifiers, but the normal Assist Me browser interface does not collect or store raw card numbers or bank-account credentials. Assist Me may display limited Stripe-provided details such as brand/bank name and last four digits so you can recognize a saved method.

4. How information is used

• Provide accounts, profiles, requests, offers, paid-job workflow, memberships, verification, sponsorships, and payouts.
• Operate search, market-demand analytics, owner reporting, fraud/security controls, and dispute resolution.
• Maintain the service, troubleshoot errors, enforce site rules, and comply with lawful requests.
• Understand which markets and service categories need more helpers or requesters.

5. Service providers

Assist Me currently relies on service providers including Supabase for authentication/database/storage, Netlify for hosting and server functions, and Stripe for payments and payout onboarding. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices when providing their services.

6. Ask Me support privacy

Ask Me does not use an external AI API in this build. It downloads a static Assist Me knowledge file and matches your question inside your browser. Ask Me questions are not sent to OpenAI or another AI provider, and this build does not save Ask Me chat history to the Assist Me database.

7. Browser storage

Assist Me may use browser storage for items such as the ZIP you last viewed, authentication/session state managed by the authentication provider, and first-touch campaign/referral information. Clearing browser/site data can remove locally stored preferences and may sign you out.

8. Retention and choices

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to operate the marketplace, maintain transaction/dispute records, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and protect users. You can update profile information from My dashboard and remove eligible open requests. Some secured, completed, disputed, or financial records may need to remain as part of the transaction record.

9. Security

Assist Me uses access controls and server-side handling for sensitive operational credentials, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and report suspicious account activity promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as Assist Me adds features, providers, markets, or legal requirements. Material changes should be reflected by updating the effective date and the information shown here.

1. Marketplace role

Assist Me provides tools for people to post local requests, offer help, arrange paid or volunteer services, and use related marketplace features. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Assist Me is not the employer of helpers and does not itself perform the services posted by users.

2. Your account and information

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you submit, protecting your sign-in credentials, and activity performed through your account. Do not impersonate another person or use the service for fraud, harassment, unlawful activity, or prohibited services.

3. Requests and offers

Users are responsible for deciding whether a request, helper, requester, price, location, schedule, and service arrangement are appropriate for them. Assist Me does not guarantee that a request will receive an offer, that an offer will be accepted, or that a user will be available or suitable for a particular job.

4. Paid jobs

For the current secured paid-job flow, a requester selects an offer and completes checkout before the helper starts. The site may show Payment Secured after confirmed payment. This is marketplace payment handling and should not be described as legal escrow.

The helper controls Start Job and Job Completed. After the helper marks the job completed, the requester can confirm Service Completed or Report a Problem. Requester confirmation releases the helper's full agreed amount immediately. A fallback review window exists only so an unresponsive requester cannot leave completed work stuck indefinitely.

5. Fees and helper earnings

The current standard paid-job service fee is 8% added to the requester's total, with a $1 minimum service fee. An active membership currently reduces that Assist Me service fee to 4%, with the same $1 minimum. The paid-job model is designed so the helper receives the full agreed job amount, subject to successful payout processing and any lawful payment reversal or dispute outcome.

6. Resolution Center

Reporting a problem pauses the normal payout-release process and opens a case for review. A report does not automatically create a refund. Assist Me may review available job, payment, timing, and case information and choose an available resolution such as releasing worker payment or refunding the buyer.

7. Memberships, verification, boosts, sponsors, and Founder status

Optional paid features may include memberships, verification badges, request boosts, and sponsor listings. Current prices and benefits are shown on the site before checkout. Business sponsor listings are monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until canceled; cancellation stops future renewal and keeps the listing active through the current paid billing period.

Founder status is separate from paid products. Neighbor or Business account identity is free. Founder status cannot be purchased and is awarded only while qualifying Founder positions remain after a recorded Assist Me job loop reaches its successful completed state. A personal Founder's original ZIP, serial number, and first qualifying path are intended to remain permanent on that account. Business Founder status is also separate from monthly sponsor-strip placement; paying for a sponsor listing does not itself earn a Founder badge. A badge, Founder designation, or paid placement is not a guarantee of service quality, safety, licensing, insurance, or future performance.

8. Safety and lawful use

Do not use Assist Me to request or offer illegal goods/services, fraud, threats, harassment, exploitation, or activity that violates applicable law. Users should use reasonable judgment when meeting people, entering homes, transporting people/property, arranging child/family care, or performing work that may require licensing, insurance, permits, or specialized qualifications.

9. Payments and third-party services

Payments, saved payment methods, payout onboarding, payout destinations, Express Dashboard access, and eligible payout-speed options are processed through Stripe. Authentication, hosting, storage, and other infrastructure rely on third-party service providers. Availability can be affected by those providers, payment networks, banks, internet service, or events outside Assist Me's reasonable control.

10. Availability and changes

Assist Me may change features, pricing, service areas, policies, or marketplace rules as the service develops. The active growth market does not guarantee service availability in that market, and users can still search other supported U.S. ZIP codes.

11. No guarantee

Assist Me is provided as a marketplace platform. To the extent permitted by law, the service does not promise that every listing, user statement, service outcome, payment, search result, or third-party service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose.
